A Unique Summer Opportunity: Be a Mentor and Teach Conversational English in China this Summer
|
For over 18 years, Nawa has provided students with unique educational opportunities while traveling in foreign countries. This summer, Nawa has been invited to send a small group of students to China to mentor Chinese students and teach them conversational English.
Nawa took advantage of an invitation four years ago, sending five high school students and one chaperone to the Chinese Hong Kong English School (CHES) for three weeks. Since that point, we have expanded this program and continue to receive invitations from various schools. These are excellent intercultural experiences for students wishing to expand their cultural awareness.
This summer, we will spend 12 days at the Yangshuo Outdoor English Camp in Yangshou, China, where our students will work directly with students from China. Our group will then travel to Beijing, where they will spend the remaining six days touring the many sites of this dynamic city.
Please note that a semester of elective credit is offered through our Global Cultures and Travel elective course.
